Nutriterra®: A Year in Review

It’s been an eventful year for Nutriterra Total Omega-3. Many milestones were reached on the road to commercialization. See some of the achievements made to demonstrate the safety, efficacy, and sustainability of this novel omega-3 oil and click through to dive deeper

Human Clinical Trials Completed

We shared the results of our human clinical trials: Nutriterra is a safe and effective source of long-chain omega-3. Tested at 4 and 16 weeks of use, a 1,000 mg serving raises circulating blood levels of omega-3 and improves indicators of overall health.

Earned Friend of the Sea® Certification

Nutriterra is the very first plant-based biotechnology to be certified by the World Sustainability Organization. This recognizes the positive impact Nuseed Omega-3 Canola has on reducing pressure on ocean resources by cultivating our novel oil in an environmentally responsible manner.

Joined the United Nations Global Compact

Nuseed Nutritional became a Signatory Member of the United Nations Global Compact. This is a global effort to unite businesses for a better world and a public commitment to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Conducted Novel Consumer Research

Nuseed surveyed over 1200 Vitamin, mineral, and supplement (VMS) consumer to collect their attitudes and behaviors toward omega-3, as well as their impressions of Nutriterra Total Omega-3. The research reveals that 64% of VMS consumer prefer plant-based omega-3 when presented an option, and more than 90% recognize advantages of Nutriterra over fish and algal oils.

Published New Scientific Research

Nuseed is deeply invested in Research and Development, and actively shares our discoveries within the scientific community. This year we published our research on food and feed safety in  Frontiers in Nutrition and provided a sneak peek into future omega-3 innovations in the Plant Biotechnology Journal.

New Dietary Ingredient Status

Nuseed worked diligently to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of Nutriterra through human clinical trials and various safety studies and presented the findings to the US Food and Drug Administration. After a complete review the FDA acknowledged Nutriterra as a New Dietary Ingredient. This voluntary process provides confidence in the safety of Nutriterra Total Omega-3.
